After expansion? Recession...

Cellphone rang early this morning...looking at the number...it started with 254-xxxx...exactly, a phone call from Intel office. Somebody is on MC and coverage needed, so i need to go back to work OT today.

Some thought suddenly splashed into my mind. If one's job can be replaced by just a phone call, do you think you're doing something unique? do you think you're the only one who has the skill set? do you think your job is secure? do you think your boss would need you if you don't perform outstandingly at all time? even if you perform very oustanding, you get high increment with higher pay, at the end of the day when recession comes, you're the first one to be laid-off. If i can provide coverage to people, people can replace me at anytime too. So, either to be outstanding or to be just normal, you're at risk anytime. Agree? think about it... Wow, thanks to this early morning call, it woke me up from my bed and from my ignorance~!

This speaks to someone's heart especially during this period in the company. Bid farewell to those who are leaving or who might already left from Asian, to Europe, to American region. May it be a good new beginning. For those who stay, prepare something now? I can see some people started to realise the fact of life and started to do something different to protect themselves from the bad situation. I'm always impressed to see those who really step out the first step in doing something for themselves in action, from taking up extra courses, attending seminars, to exploring different industry, new business. The little step is small, but the courage is huge.

"Farewells are inevitable. Because workers are dispensable. Fact of life."

Your mind and ideas are unique. Even though both of you are working on a same piece of work. Your boss still value your creativity.
