Christmas Party 2006

Image
It's another year...Christmas is over now and i had a special one this year, with me first time in my memory attending a christmas party in friend's house with Santa Clause and having gift exchange, with a surprise special guest in PG, with me first time organising a party in office and made it a success. :) This year we got more people in the pic taken in front of our every-year-the-same Christmas tree. see? so many new faces, making me no longer the youngest in the department :( see the little girl pic projected on the wall? hehehe...guess who? it's so much fun to look at each of our childhood pic and guess who they are, some even have the difficulty to differentiate if that's a boy or girl, lol~ Next, our word/phrase guessing by acting them out to group members one by one, and the last one says out the answer. I finally know how to upload a movie :) see my dear team lead's acting skills... Umm...the answer was a movie title "Meet the Parents", and that&

Focal writing, Christmas mood

Image
Today is once-a-year focal submission day...whatever you've done for the past one year, sqeeze into one-two page, and that paper is gonna determine your next one year expenses and lifestyle, i.e. you get higher increment then can live a little bit better luxurious life, get extra few hundreds to spend on shopping or on your dog lo...right? Isn't it unreasonable to work so hard for that same amount of $ for the whole year?! and work harder for a few hundreds increment, and let it stagnant for another one year?! Think about it, it's totally unacceptable... :( but that's something most people are chasing after so hard year by year, in the rat race. It's 3.45pm in office, i'm blogging and not writing focal...hahaha, hopefully this page won't be read by my boss...oppss...please forgive me, i just don't have the mood to write...i have done so little in Q4 this year, and without realizing, it has come to the year end so soon. Guess everybody is in holiday mood

Happy Anniversary "New-born Unagi's Home"

Saw poipoi's anniversary reminds me to check mine too...oopss...it's one day over now...nvm, in US it's still Thursday, 21 Dec 2006. Happy Anniversary "unagiz.blogspot.com"!! Hurray! (Wednesday, December 21, 2005) The born of "New-born Unagi's Home" Thanks to you who keep me going with this write-ups, although not very interesting nor very fancy... But you spent your time here with me bearing with my mumbles, viewing the ugly/nice photos, listening to music i play...the checker on number of visitors does give me huge encouragement, and keep my momentum going. Well, it's another year. Let's see how am i going to spend my Christmas and New Year this time. Remember last year i spent my Christmas eve with Leong koko, odd, how did we both end up to be together on that day and only both us?! Yeah, i think we must thank to the free Haagen Dazs voucher that Intel gave us? I still have the nice pics in my Dec 2005 blog where we had the fondue :) I'

Mamula Moon (Hawaiian Song)

Image
"Mamula Moon" by Felix Mendelssohn Title: Mamula Moon Artist: Felix Mendelssohn & His Hawaiian Serenaders Album: Paradise Isle Year: 1947 Track number: 14 Duration: 00:02:50 one day i walked along a moonlit island shore and soon i heard a song i've never heard before i said who can it be to sing so tenderly and saw a dust he made with lonely serenade mamula moon shine high above the southern sea and like my love say form again to me we said goodbye beside the blue lagoon alone am i with you mamula moon i waved my hand the grey ship sailed across the bay on golden sand that might i melt to pray that i might see my love returning soon still true to me and you mamula moon Since my mama asked me to search this song for her the other day after she heard it from somewhere, so i thought of posting it here to share out. Only Malaysian would be more familiar with the melody of this song i supposed? and of course, those who listen to oldies or Hawaiian songs :) I've been

'Mr. Easy Button'

Image
28 Nov 2006 (Tue) - Our off day from work. Here we go...Thai Temple, Burmese Temple, Botanical Garden, beaches and Thai food. Mr. Easy Button tasted it and he took it well :) **A side track, pls stop spreading to ppl that i yelled at you over the car automatic lock/unlock. LOL 2 Dec 2006 (Sat) - He left for FM. It was so dramatic that we had to wave goodbye in cars right in front of Intel :) He in the cab rushing to the airport after "borrowing" 50 bucks from Jael on me; me in my car turning into Intel premises. Adios~ see ya again...in LV! Yeah~! ;)

Cheeky Bryan in Action

Image
Yeah~! Finally, the owner of the big white ugly truck is in Penang! :P "Give me 5!" Mayagi & Brandagi ;) Brandon, you know what, i can say whatever i like about his truck here in PG and BEST part of all is he has to just keep quiet and smile :) lol~! First time ever!! Wished you were here and 3 of us giving High 5, can you imagine the scene? lol...flame or smoke coming out from him?! whatever... Well, as per what we've talked about, i've made him ate some "special" stuff, that you can see from the pic. ;) More to come, ok? MY will be with us tomorrow and we will not forget the spicy stuff for him...lol Stay tune...

Beautiful Night

It's a beautiful night The stars are hiding behind the canopy of clouds A slight breeze gently caressing the leaves The dim hue of the moon penetrates the fog and shines shyly on the cobblestones At the far horizon, a silhouette was approaching slowly but gradually A silhouette appeared..his footsteps were bulky, his breathing heavy But he pushed on with a steely intent He uttered a word A word almost drowned by the symphony of insects that were orchestrating through the folliage The word was soft yet strong The word that cuts through the deafening silence The word was definitive The word was firm And this was what he said To my dearest... I will always be with you through thick and thin, through good and bad times, through success and failure. Your mere presence brings strength to every cell in my body, your voice sends oxygen through every vein in my soul. And before he could finish his sentence, flashes of lightning cuts through the peace, illuminating the whole sky, giving the

hehe morrie finally read this writing today without my expectation when i wrote it. i didn't know a simple write-up would touch someone out there so much. When i showed Fred, he was so excited, "No one ever write these things bout me before, you've certainly opted the best photo of our outings..." and shared it out with everyone around him. i remember he was in EQ viewing this with his blackberry. and today, morrie read it and said the same :) it isn't something special that i purposely want to mean anything, but just pure appreciation, feelings, and memorable experiences in my life, k? :) glad to know it might mean something to you who are reading and i hope it continues...

After expansion? Recession...

Cellphone rang early this morning...looking at the number...it started with 254-xxxx...exactly, a phone call from Intel office. Somebody is on MC and coverage needed, so i need to go back to work OT today. Some thought suddenly splashed into my mind. If one's job can be replaced by just a phone call, do you think you're doing something unique? do you think you're the only one who has the skill set? do you think your job is secure? do you think your boss would need you if you don't perform outstandingly at all time? even if you perform very oustanding, you get high increment with higher pay, at the end of the day when recession comes, you're the first one to be laid-off. If i can provide coverage to people, people can replace me at anytime too. So, either to be outstanding or to be just normal, you're at risk anytime. Agree? think about it... Wow, thanks to this early morning call, it woke me up from my bed and from my ignorance~! This speaks to someone's hea

Special Grouping by Morrie

Morrie helped to do a special grouping for us with Suchi, LY, KG and SP there. Been sms'ing whole day with Morrie, from before, during, after his trip to Gunung Jerai for special mission...? Learn and chat quite a lot, he isn't that cool or cold afterall. To my surprise, he got me a lozenge from The Store in SP after knowing i'm suffering from sorethroat. It tastes better than any that i tried before :) Guess he had helped a lot trying to groom me up this round in PG, time for me to learn to be more initiative in learning and executing during his absense back to SG. (right, Morrie?)

Tuesdays with Morrie

"Be the change you want to see in the world." ~Ghandi "Every night when i go to sleep, i die. The next morning when i wake up, i'm reborn." ~ Ghandi Morrie is in BKK. Started to communicate via email again... We talked about "Tuesdays with Morrie", i shared the presentation slide with him that was sent by someone i clicked into this morning at work mail. Guess what, the goat milking trip and KL-JB trip were on Tuesdays :) I'm very blessed and lucky to have found my Morrie in life at this age. ** Thank you morrie, if you happen to read this page one day :) **

THE SECRET!

The Secret of the Universe. A long waited incredible recording of The Secret! It's fated that it finally came to me...I've just got to watch 'The Secret' that I've been hearing about and wanting to watch so much but haven't get a chance. Surprisingly, I received an invitation session that they are playing in Intel PG12 Customer Room, so I went for it during working hour with my boss. It's a very highly recommended 'movie'. It's not a normal movie but more on inspiring one, not everybody would watch it, but I think everybody would need it. It's unveiling the great secret of the universe. Go thru the website to know more about it and get one to watch. It worth everything when you know The Secret and apply it in our daily lives. Now that I'm revealing the existence of The Secret. It's your choice to find it out and make a drastic change in life to a better one. Let's do it together. Any feedback? opinion? comment? Pls write to me @ m

CLICK

Went for the movie CLICK. It has a thoughtful flow. Especially when the man sees how much of his personal life has passed him by and realizes the importance of spending more time with his family, the scene when he last met his dad in his office...the old man that reminds me of Jim... We went to the long-time-never-been mamak after movie. HC's prince charming did not appear himself even til the Birthday was over. And today here goes her MSN nick, “算了吧。。。没有希望,才不会失望!没有期待,才不会等待。。。” Friend, keep dreaming!

Dreamers

Just came to read a book that contains a part saying this: A: "If you had all the money in the world, where would you travel to?" B: "I would fly to California to visit my sister. I haven't seen her in 14 years and i would love to see her. Especially before her children get any older. That would be my dream vacation." A: "But that would only cost you about $500 dollars. Why don't you do that today?" B: "Oh, i will, but not today. I'm just too busy right now." Later in life, you can hear them say, "You know, i should have done that years ago, but i just never got around to doing it." This type of people is more common than everyone thought. Many people live their lives having dreams they know they can achieve, but they never seem to get around to living their dreams. This paragraph stroke me right. I should had flown into Texas to see Jim when i was in the States last year. He has been telling me his health has deteriorated v

In memory of Jimmy Gilmore

This is a saddening news i've just received...i was stunned... :::::( I lost somebody who was so dear without knowing when and what happened. It's hard for me to accept the fact that i've lost him forever. I was just reading through all of our corresponding mails right before receiving this news. They are still so fresh in my mind and Jim has been staying alive to me. From: "Martha Thornton" To: "May Ling Ho" Subject: Re: Status Report Date: Sat, 12 Aug 2006 09:50:47 -0500 May Ling, are you asking about Jimmy Gilmore? I hate to tell you that he passed away. I'm writing because I heard him mention you a lot. We were a "couple" for a while and stayed good friends. He always talked about his " little friend" May Ling. Please let me know if you get this. Revolving Restaurant

Image
Fred is in PG again. After so many rounds of failure to meet up even we were just in the same building PG12, and even nearly lose the chance to meet up as he closely board the plane back to AZ this morning. Without giving up, he fought til the very last minute. LOL...he finally made it back to Evergreen Hotel in the evening, after all the hoo-ha's...miracles do happen :) Welcome back, and here we go watching the Chinese Ghost Month Festival "Dialect Performance". I really can't be sure if it's cantonese, teochew, hakka or whatever dialect. We went drinking at Revolving Restaurant after that having Rae with us. A place i've last been around 10 yrs ago. Things remain the same, environment is not bad. I learned and tasted 3 cocktails tonight, Grasshopper, Singapore Sling, Black/White Russian. Good recommendation. After a stroll in E&O Hotel, we decided to call it a night. Thanks for the nice chocolate from Germany. :)

A day

A very meaningful day...tired but benefited a lot. My heartfelt thanks to those who look up to me and support me, especially the unexpected encouragement from Henry. I believe if i continue to repeat the easy steps, i will succeed. Meow, thanks for always sharing the job opportunities with me, but i think i've finally found something i want in life. At least i learn bit by bit from now. I'm sure you will support me in my decision, right? Yes, you will. :)

0505 Mom's Birthday

Today is big mama's birthday! Bro and me prepared cheesecakes with peach toppings which i bought last week. 1 medium 2 small. plan to bring to office for colleagues. hehe, wonder if anyone'd like/dare to try?! ;) 4 o'clock, there was exciting Thomas Cup semi-final match on MAS vs DEN. Did not follow the badminton news for quite some time now, ever since i thought M'sia team was all sinking. But i just got to know that we actually have World Ranking No. 2 Lee Chong Wei as our first single, and i started to chase the news a lot. It brings back my good memories on those days when i was soooo crazy about badminton matches and "stars". I was always so proud to present my pictures with the players and signatures i've got to people, and I am still, i suppose? if anybody would like to see? heheh... Anyways, eventhough we lost to the dens but the players did fight til the end and good matches i watched. Despite our 2nd single, Wong Choon Han's injuries, we sti

SCS

15&16 April 06 - SCS is so excellent! It helps me to have my self-breakthrough! I had my so many "first time" and breakthroughs that i can't believe myself that i have done that. Thanks Brian. It's going to help me in a lot of ways in life. I will keep it up!

Swimming

Feel so good...swam 18 laps in PISA after the Open Forum & Skip-Level Meeting with Chris today. I wish i stay nearer to PISA so i can go everyday with just RM1, hehe, that's the priviledge of being an Intellier. :P

Let's Party! Bailamos?!

Image
OK...i wanted to write something about the night when we had the party in Evergreen. i wrote halfway that night and felt asleep, so continue now... (3/8, Wed) was one of the special nights that i've ever experienced. We attended the party organized by our Costa Rican peers at pool side, Evergreen. I call it a Latino Party. It was their last night in Penang before flying back to CR the next day early morning, so they planned to party whole night long til the time to go Airport. And i would say this is the first and last time for both the whole GSM team from CR & PG to be gathered together, once operation starts in CR, this is quite impossible anymore. Anyway, everybody seemed to be enjoying it very much. The pool side was occupied by only us. Hotel staffs were so nice that they borrowed us speakers. The uniqueness of this party from my experiences is, people really DANCE! Impressively, each and everyone of them is really a great dancer. I took some video clips on that too. Of c

Car ran into longkang

Without paying full awareness while driving, my car ran into a big drain today when i tried to pull over. The front left tyre was stuck in the drain and i can't move the car at all. very paiseh...it was at Lorong Susu in front of the "Char Siew Rice" shop when going there to tapao lunch for bro! Luckily there were few nice guys offered to help, an uncle suggested to find a wood and support the tyre while i reverse the car. ok...the indonesian helper from the shop finally found a wood and 3 guys helped to hold and support the tyre with the wood while i reversed my car. The car got up easily with the great idea and help of the people! Umm....i feel the warmth of the people for their lending hands. :-) "Thank you!" Same time, abit paiseh for being an 乌龙 driver. >_<

"Oscar Golden Award"

Now i finally experienced the politics at work place with "Mr. 25" who likes back stabbing so much and yet acts "friendly" & "innocent" in front of you. I'm here to give away the Oscar Golden Award to this Best Actor.

My Sponsored Child

I finally received the information of my sponsored child. Zhao Ying Li, a 10 year-old girl, she is from HeBei PingQuan, China. Her daily chore is to help baby sitting. Parents are subsistence farmers. The annual income is RM555. Well, now see...what can i get for her when choosing a gift? no food, no money, no jewelleries, no electronic products, e.g. watch toys, calculators, CDs, no clothings, no shoes, no cosmetics or skin-care items, e.g. lotion, soap, shampoo, toothpaste, no stuffed dolls and toys. Basically i can't give anything that will arouse jealousy among other children and members of the community and be detrimental to community harmony. Now see what can i get for her...stationaries, stickers, bookmarks, books, my photos, drawings, letters, plain color socks, scarves or caps, postcards of home country, scenary photos, hair pins and ribbons, small hanging decorations, tooth brush, hand towels, plain color handkerchiefs. If little things like these can add smiley faces on

14 Feb is an unforgetable day

Seeing this title in Eng Keat's MSN, thought of asking him what makes him so good about this Valentine's Day. Just got a new gf? celebrating happily with her? I'm pleased i did not. Received the news of his mom passing away the next day. That made me stunned. This day is really an unforgetable day for him. Went to the funeral home that night with few friends. They were running a Christian ceremony, so everything was simple & peace...I was glad to see him to be very strong and still able to joke around with us. "Be good to our parents when they are still here" this is something came from EH who wasn't really care much about home til the loss of his dad few years ago. I agree, as parents will only be with us for at most another 30+ years or shorter? But friends will be with us til we are old. Sometimes, even a simple lunch/dinner, i try to make it together with them. It means something to me. It's not ordinary.

Thaipusam with foreigners in PG

Image
I was being a tour guide again unintentionally today, but end up to be great though. Initial plan was to join my bro to the Thaipusam procession with Fred (Fred Tomianovic from Arizona, ITMC 2nd Level/Manager). And i thought that is about it. But the day started with having my bro's colleagues and his Costa Rican counterparts getting along. We went to see the piercing at Lorong Kulit, then head to Waterfall area to join the procession up to the temple at the hill. Walked for almost 4-5 hours under the hot sun (and i'm getting sunburn now!). They are amazing and seem unbelievable with the piercing through their mouth with stainless steel. And yes, WE witnessed the very moment when he pierced it in! We then drove up to Holiday Inn and relaxed ourselves with some drinks, and of course beers & cigarettes for them, and hot chocholate for me...erhem...just because i'm not an alcoholic but i'm not a teetotaller neither. After dinner, we had a stroll in the drizzling night

New Year Motto

“提升自己,充实人生。” 9 Feb 2006 was a special day which i had my first step in two new things. Making it a turning-point in my life. I'll check the progression from time to time. Keep it up!

Bro and me played some fireworks with sis, that reminds me on old times when we were kids playing fireworks and fire crackers with cousins every year during CNY. We had a simple 拜拜 ceremony, and the area is full of crackers noise! OK, it finally slows down now and i shall head to bed...zzz...good night~.~

Ipoh Trip

Spent a day in Ipoh with jian0, yen, hong chiat and kg. Nothing really special there but notice that they are really famous with their chicken. Erhem, the real chicken i mean. Tauge Chicken, Salted Chicken and chicken feet are the famous food. Served tauge chicken @ Oon Kei for lunch and chicken feet @ Kum Kei for dinner. See? we are eating every part of a chicken. That's Chinese :) Spent the afternoon in temples at and around "San Bao Dong". But the weather in PG is extremely HOT! Sometimes i really opt to give up many activities due to the crazily warm weather out there. How nice if the temperature in PG can reduce by 5-10 degrees :)

Sick :(

Unagi is sick and yet still at work today :( Bad sorethroat and feeling cold despite with the thick jacket, went to visit Health Services and got some medicine, sitting quietly at my seat whole day :( Countdown to CNY ---> 5 days. i 'm looking forward to eat and drink a lot lehhh!!!

My SONY Bean :-)

Image
I've got a surprise this morning by reading an email from my bro's colleague "Please come and collect your SONY mp3 from me at my cube." Eiiii?? that's the gift for my bday from my bro, despite he is in US now :P something that i did not expect. hehe, thanks a lot. it's a cool bean and i was actually only expecting a basic memory stick and expecting to get it (or even not at all) after he is back to PG after CNY. not bad not bad, got an "upgraded" gift this year. :)

World Vision

Image
Something i found interesting...looking forward to seeing the sponsored-child. :) China World Vision Malaysia currently supports two ADPs in China . One at Yongsheng-Luide in Yunnan and another at Xinjiang in Hotan. The Yongsheng-Luide ADP comprises 1,084 children and has, to date, benefited more than 14,498 people. Quote

Received a good quote from meow this morning which he over heard from MY FM: “When people question why do they receive the same as others, they first have to ask themselves have they contributed the same like others? If you would like to receive better than others, first ask yourself are you contributing better than others…” Oo...bro flown out this morning, supposed to be in the plane heading to LA at this moment, 10 more hours to go, long journey man! Enjoy & take care~!

Golden Sands Beach

Image
I had my first jet ski ride today in Golden Sands. :) Thanks for the ride, that was fun. 3pm, snake show - Black Mamba & King Cobra. Visited tweet's house for the first time after she moved to Batu Ferringghi. Went home and had 2 sunny-side up eggs + rice to fill up my stomach. Went out to meet Win for the first time since i came back from the States...it has been 2 months now. Picked her up from just perming her hair that looks like lion king or the CNY "bu lang sai". Is that something i may consider to do? perming hair?! ummm...suggestion? Anyways, Win, tweet and me gathered @ Gurney Place, updating each others with so much recent life. It was a nice meeting with old friends. :)

Hawker's Food Adventure

Image
okra, muggy, slimy, sitcom, maple syrup, hue After Prangin Mall and visiting your "friends" in Botanical Garden, it's of course yummie yummie time again. I know somebody is going to say my blog is full of food! Anyway, apparently you are not adventurous enough on food. Looking at so much food on the table (hokkien mee, fried oyster, lor bak, chicken feet, bird eggs, drumstick), only drumstick looks/tastes normal to you. Rest of them are more like a "yiak" to you. A stroll after dinner is not a bad idea, and here we go, along the gurney walkway. Somehow, a pancake after the stroll was definitely one of the causes of that big tummy in you :P I'm sorry but you'll just have to build another house and work out to get rid of 45 pounds again. I just found out my pocket burnt a hole today shopping with Suchi in Prangin. sob~sob~

Mutton & Serviette

Image
Mutton = lamb meat. Lamb = young sheep Serviette = Napkin Got it? Kelley? lol...i just can't believe that you were asking everybody in the ice-cream house, and best part of all, she has a dictionary with her to prove that i was right. And then it made you say, "OK, you were absolutely right. Let's get out of here!" lol well, i have the whole process taken down in video clip that will always remind you of that very moment. :)

Happy Birthday Kelley!

Image
Special day for Kelley! We first brought him to Lemon Grass for Thai food, then to RICE. Bought him a little choc cake, got the singers on the stage to sing him a birthday song, and sat by the seaside enjoying fruit juice and free beers from Chris (a new friend that we just made?) "No one had ever done this for me, it was so sweet" Well, we were just trying to do our best at the very last minute without any preparation in prior. Just hope that you will have a memorable birthday in Penang. Oh yea, we made you eat Jellyfish and longan (it's a kind of fruit, and yes, just believe us) on your birthday! lol A brand new RICOH camera with 7.1 optical zoom you've got for yourself on your birthday. Everything seems to be good. Although it was simple, but hope you like it. One more week to go and we will see each other again "don't know when". Last year 3rd Jan, there was a surprise phone call from me and this year 3rd Jan, we are celebrating it together. Somethin
